Bumbershoot at KEXP
KEXP is ready to knock your socks off at this year’s Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival over Labor Day weekend. Starting this Friday, Bumbershoot ticketholders can join us in the KEXP Gathering Space for three afternoons of local music including Lisa Prank, Deep Sea Diver, Fly Moon Royalty, and a farewell performance from Pony Time. We’ll be hosting four performances each day of Bumbershoot, starting at 3:00 p.m.!
We are also excited to welcome Seattle-based independent record label & distributor Light in the Attic to our Gathering Space as part of the festival. The LiTA Pop-Up Record Shop is open now, slinging classics from Lee Hazlewood, Betty Davis, Serge Gainsbourg, and Rodriguez, as well as limited copies of the highly-anticipated Twin Peaks Original Soundtrack on vinyl, a week before its official release. Wheedle’s Groove Seattle soul compilations will be available, too, along with some nostalgia-inducing mini record players for the kids. Get the young music lover in your life a jump start on their very own vinyl collection!
The Gathering Space will remain open to the public until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so if La Marzocco is part of your morning routine, you can keep that going through Labor Day weekend. As an added incentive, this Friday, September 2, at 10:00 a.m. La Marzocco will showcase Counter Culture at a free Tastings At Ten open house.
